Pneumatic wrench model types and usage methods

Pneumatic wrench model types and usage methods
A pneumatic wrench, also known as a ratchet wrench or electric tool combination, is primarily a tool that provides high torque output with minimal consumption. What are the classifications of pneumatic wrenches? Pneumatic wrenches are generally divided into two types: conventional, which are very common impact wrenches, and pulse pneumatic wrenches. The difference between the two is that the former cannot provide a fixed torque, while the latter can. It is important to regularly lubricate the pneumatic wrench, otherwise it may affect normal usage.

Usage methods of pneumatic wrenches
A pneumatic torque wrench is a torque wrench powered by a high-pressure air pump. It is driven by one or two powerful pneumatic motors that drive torque multipliers with three or more sets of rotating gears. Torque magnitude is controlled by adjusting the gas pressure to meet specific torque requirements. Each tool is equipped with a dedicated air pressure torque control chart and calibration report. To further enhance application, pneumatic torque wrenches can be paired with torque sensors for more precise torque output. After obtaining the required torque, appropriate circuit systems can be used to manually or automatically shut off the air supply.

The difference between the two is that the former cannot provide a fixed torque, while the latter can. Pneumatic torque wrenches belong to the latter category.

Models of pneumatic wrenches
Pneumatic wrenches, also known as air guns or pneumatic ratchets, are generally categorized as follows: those with a 1/2-inch drive are called small air guns, while those with a 3/4-inch or 1-inch drive, whether straight or pistol-grip style, are called medium-sized air guns. Straight types are generally referred to as large air guns.

There are many specifications and sizes of sockets for pneumatic wrenches, mainly divided into several categories, such as 1 inch, 1/2 inch, 3/8 inch, and 3/4 inch. When selecting, pay attention to the size of the square head of the pneumatic wrench. For example, if the square head of the pneumatic wrench is 3/8 inch, you should choose a 3/8-inch socket, and then select the appropriate socket based on the bolt size you are working with. However, be aware of the operating range of the pneumatic wrench to prevent damage to the machine.

Generally, sockets for pneumatic wrenches with internal and external threads of less than 3/4 inch are the same. The 1-inch air gun head is larger.

Maintenance tips for pneumatic wrenches

There should be a correct air supply system to ensure prolonged and proper usage of the product.
Do not operate the tool after arbitrarily removing parts from it, as it may not only affect safety but also damage the tool.
If the tool malfunctions and cannot perform its original function, it should be immediately inspected.
Regularly check and maintain the tool, and add lubricating oil as needed.
When using various tools, follow safety regulations and instruction manuals.
Choose the appropriate tool for the task at hand.
