How to Repair a Rotary Hammer

How to Repair a Rotary Hammer

The general maintenance of electric hammers is very simple, because it may be long and inconvenient to travel from the construction site to the store for maintenance. Doing it yourself can save money and time.

1. First of all, if the electric hammer does not have power, check the wires, switches, and carbon brushes. Generally, if there is no power, first eliminate the cause of the wires. Cut off the tail wire and reconnect the switch to see if there is power.

2. Disassemble the handle

3. Check whether the switch is burnt, or the switch does not make a crisp sound when pressed. If possible, buy a multimeter and set it to the buzzer position, press the quick switch, and place the red and black test leads at 1/2 and 3/4 to observe. Is there a beep sound? No switches are damaged. Connect the new switch, connect the 2 wires from the motor to 1/3, and the outside wire to 2/4

4. Check whether the carbon brush is damaged. When the length of the carbon brush is less than 3/4 of the original length, it should be replaced in time. Note that the carbon brush cover is brittle and easy to be broken, so be careful.
